Empowering Communities of Tomorrow

Mission For Sustainability

As a part of its efforts under the ‘Sustainability’ initiative, the Foundation has two programs focused on innovatively and sustainably solving the problems people face as the world urbanises rapidly

Urban Works Innovations Challenge

RMZ Foundation along with Columbia University’s Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science and Columbia Global Centres, Mumbai, organised and ran the Urban Works Innovation Challenge. This was a three-year collaborative design challenge that brought together engineering, planning and policy solutions to transform workspaces into environments that support innovation and productivity.

The Urban Works Innovation Challenge invited applications from passionate young professionals and entrepreneurs to create viable and interdisciplinary design concepts for transforming 21st-century workspaces into innovative and productive environments. The challenge gave young innovators a globally competitive opportunity to propose solutions for some of India’s most pressing social challenges and gain from tools, learning sessions, peer networks and unrestricted capital to transform their idea into action.

Sustainable Health Initiative

The Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations recognise that promoting global health equity to end poverty will be achieved through strategies that address health and education, reduce inequality, spur economic growth and respect the environment. Entrepreneurship is a vital part of this approach to cultivate investment in sustainable solutions.

The Sustainable Health Initiative is a collaboration with the Yale Institute for GlobalHealth and the Yale School of Public Health to connect the innovation ecosystem at Yale to that of Bangalore, India, to cultivate health and health care start-ups for social impact.
